Hello, I’m Jacqueline, founder of @craftadian, and if you’ve been with us since day one (2011), you’ll remember that we were the Made By Hand show.
Back in 2010, I was a maker (mostly scrapbooking and handmade cards) and while exhibiting at a market, I thought that it would be great to organise an event bringing together makers and entrepreneurs together under one roof.
And so it began, in 2011 the Made by Hand Show was born – we hosted our first market at the International Centre with over 100 makers. For a first-timer, it went pretty smooth. As any entrepreneur will tell you, there have been ups and downs, and over the years, I have worked hard to perfect the brand. I tried new things – some successes and yes, some failures. In 2015 we made a massive shift – we rebranded. It was a terrifying leap, but I wanted a name that we could trademark and “Made by Hand” was too generic. I started to brainstorm new names, and in 2015 CRAFTADIAN was born – the name formed from two words CRAFT & CANADIAN and what I believe represents our vision of small-batch handmade in Canada goods! And boy has it been a great ride – all thanks to you!
Now back to ME! for those of you that don’t know, I am a single mom of two boys who keep me on my toes. I work full time (corporate style), am a super mom, manage a household, own two businesses (@craftadian and @
So for those of you who are new, welcome! I appreciate you taking this journey with me, and for those who have been around since day one – I thankyou for being part of this grand experience of shopping small & supporting local. #craftadian #HamOnt
